Buddy Loves His Blankie

I love these pictures of Buddy because he hardly ever looks at the camera, so these pictures of him coporating with me rarely happens. I guess the trick is to give him his blankie. Buddy is our blankie dog. At night he curls up at the end of the bed with his blankie and sleeps all night until the alarm goes off the next morning. Then during the day or night time the blanket is spread out on the floor by me in my craft room or living room and thats where he lays for the most part.
This page was a Split Coaster Stampers Challenge SBSC125. ON the heart I stamped the word love so it reads Buddy Love his Blankie. The letters are old cardstock letters that I had since the beginning of time.

How Much is Your Blog Worth?

I came across this tonight while looking at Gina K's blog. I thought this was funny. I know like Jeff would say I am so corny. LOL!

My blog is worth $8,468.10.

What Age Do you Act?

I'm always saying I'm a kid stuck in a big girls body. And at times when my mother gets made at me she says "Christina, you act 10 sometimes"! LOL! Now for the moment of truth.

You Act Like You Are 19 Years Old

You are a teenager at heart. You don't quite feel like a grown up yet, but you don't feel like a kid.

You question authority and are still trying to find your place in this world.

You're quite rebellious, and you don't like being told what to do. You like to do things your way.

You have your own unique style, taste in music, and outlook on life.

Another Valentine Card

Normally I don't make many valentines but this year I can't stop making them. This card came from Valeries blog Got Sketch. I love her sketches!!!

All the paper is from Colorbok Punch out Pack Jewel (thanks to my sister Kay I got it for Xmas -- great colors in this packet). The birdies and saying "Will you be My Tweetheart" are from All That Scraps CC Designs Love Ya Much stamp set.

This was a hard card to take a photo of/scan because of the great colors.

Disney Animal Kingdom layout

Ever have one of those layouts or projects that you just can't put down. You walk away from it and you come back to it a few minutes or hours later. Or your mind and body is telling you its bed time but your feelings are telling you just glue down or cut one more embellishment and before you know it the project is completed. Well this was one of those pages. Last night (Saturday) I sketched out the page design (no pro designer nothing fancy). What I do is I copy my digital prints to CD then I print a Contact Sheet which is a small index of all the pictures on desk and I sort them in folders by theme. Then when I sketch a page I cut that picture out of the contact sheet and tape it onto the spot I want it on my sketch. It works great for me

All the paper on this layout is CTMH. For the title ANIMAL they are stickers that I had since the beginning of time and the Disney and Kingdom are a disney font I have on my computer. The little mickey heads are a punch that I have. The elepahnts are Jolees. On the bottom of the second page are pictures of Animals. We only had a few good animal shots from the Safari ride being that the camera wouldn't coporate. Being I didn't have enough to do a layout of that alone I thought they would work on here.

Thanks for looking it is now my bed time, actually past my bed time, I wanted this page done! LOL!

I mean its the least we can do he is in Iraq serving our country. For the address please visit Bella Carta Blog (direct link to the post regarding the rak) and leave her a message or email her and she will respond with the address. Come on crafters lets get out those birthday embellies, scissors, paper and glue and make a birthday card!!!!

I greatly appreciate the support with this!!!

Sunday Scrappin #10

Its that fabulous time of the week again where I get to post my Sunday Scrapper. I get so excited over this!

This weeks question is: When do you find time for crafts? --- I used to be a weekday surfer and a weekend crafter. So what that means is during the week after work I would sit down for a few hours and surf and play on the Internet (searching, message boards etc) and then on the week I would work on a card or a page. Now I surf the Internet less week nights and I now instead work on a card or start a page layout. Saturday night I sit and think of what I would like to scrap for the coming week and then I sketch out my page idea because that's the hard part, once I have the page layout in mind its cake from there. So then Sunday I can start on my layout. With spending less time online and more time crafting I have gotten a lot done.

My Ta Da's for this week were:

Buddy page - Dog with Attitude
Cinderella Page
All the cards I made this week
And I did get my folder of diecuts organized. YEAH!!!!!

My goals for this week are:

Do a scrapbook layout of Disney's Animal Kingdom Tree of Life (probably a 2 page layout)
Do a one page layout of Buddy
Learn a new Technique and try to apply what I learned into a card or page
Make at least one card

Have a Happy Crafting Week Everyone!

First Ever Bella Card

Today I received a wonderful surprise in the mail. Michelle from SBS7 sent me a wonderful birhtday card with stamped images inside of Bellas. Oh my! Between Ellie and Michelle I am just going to have to go out and buy some Bella stamps. They are so cute and so girly! Here is the card I made with the one of the images that Michelle sent. Thank you so much Michelle!

I also made another card today for Jeff, it was suppose to be a birthday card but it turned into a Valentine Card. He keeps saying I now that card of the boobs and butt are my card for valentines day and he laughs, SURPRISE ITS NOT!!! LOL! I will not be able to share my card ladies until after Valentines, Sorry!

But in the mean time, enjoy my Bella Card.

Blogging Friday #1

Tonight my sister (kay) came over for Blogging Friday. We had a lot of fun, I hope it keeps up! It is so great to have something to creat with and when I have an idea to call over to the table to ask what they think instead of asking Jeff and having him say "how the hell would I know" or "You really need a local craft buddy around here".

For the first card

I used a stamp that I had. Its a simple basic card but I just had to use this stamp on this paper. The paper is from the dollar store. The little birdie is popped dot to pop.

The second card:

This is the full cricut card. The "magic hat" is actually made with the George cart. I took the cylinder cut it in half then took an oval for the rim (got the idea off the cricut message board awhile ago). The hearts are also from George. I put ribbon around the "hat" and made a bow.

I am pleased with both these cards, unlike the card I made the other night.

So So Easter Card

I wasn't gong to post this but..... Well, this was another one of those cards that were better in my head then on paper. Its cute but its messing something. Maybe I need to make the eggs smaller? Not sure what I'm not giving up on this one. I may attempt to make the eggs smaller. The eggs are from Cricut Doodlecharms cart, the bunny is a stamp from All That Scraps. Take a look and give me your feedback, please. I mean, its not.....bad but what is it missing. OOH the paper is from a paper packet from the $1 store. Maybe......the bunny is to small for what I'm trying to do?? I'll try with smaller eggs. Now I'm just thinking or typing out loud. I do have a better idea for the scrap paper that I have left over from this card. Watch for more creations tomorrow is Blogging Fridays with my sister Kay (hopefully she feels better)!

Thank you!

Thank you to everyone that took a peak over at my sisters blog and left a comment. She is so excited! Thank you to everyone's support we got her hooked on scrapbooking and making crafts. She was always a crafty person but now she wants to craft more.

Usually on Fridays she comes over to my house and just hangs out for a few hours. Now she wants to call it Blogging Fridays. Were she comes over and we make crafts and then we "blog them" as she says. LOL!

This friday we are going to decorate the target mailboxes so be on the watch for it.

Does anyone know how I can make a little banner for her to put on your blog that says Blogging Fridays. That would really make her happy. Like the ones for the SBS.

My Handmade Bracelet from my Sister

I am starting to ware off on my little sister (age 12) and she is becoming the little crafter herself. She is always making me cute little posters and things. This time she made me a cute little bracelet that says Sissy with hearts (she calls me Sissy). It is so cute. I wanted to post it her for her because she is a fan of my blog plus she created her own blog to show off some the projects she has made and to post some of the handmade gifts I gave her. Check out my sisters blog and leave her a comment on one of her pictures (doesn't have to be all of her pictures) and tell her big Sis sent you it would make her day knowing people viewed her blog. Oh I got her addicted to the blog thing too. Smiling!

Dog With Attitude

I made this layout today of Buddy. Usually he is a cute, handsome loving dog but this layout shows his other side, his Dog-tude side! That's right he is a dog with Attitude! Buddy absolutely hates his picture taken, not the best thing when your mother is a scrapbooker but that doesn't stop her. Hey, she's the mother aka Boss he's just the furbaby. Buddy was laying on the floor next to me looking oh so cute when I grabbed the camera and he jumped up (he could be in a sound sleep and that camera comes on he is up). As I went to take the picture he started barking, but instead of the picture coming out of Buddy barking it captured his attention. It looks like he is sticking his nose up at me!
For the title I had chipboard letters that I received for Xmas but it didn't come with enough letter T's so I substituted everyother letter with letter stickers that also came with the Chipboard letters. The paw prints on the title were stamped. The Paper Clip was a gift from my cricut birthday club (never used paper clips on a layout before - their kind of cute). The dog next to the journaling box reminded me of a stuck up snob dog (like Buddy in the picture) is from Cricut Paper Pups Cartridge, The words going done the side (woof bark etc) is adhesive ribbon from Memory Markers (again thanks to the bday club) and then from the paper prints back to the edge of the paper is paper that was a dog theme 12x12 scrapbook paper with different designs and dog sayings that I cut up.

Bra & Panty Card

I got the template and idea from Split Coast Stampers (<---- click for pattern) . Now I need your help. I can't decide on which I want to do. Please post a comment of which of the ones you like out of these 3 choices (please)

1. On the inside write - Together we are a perfect match or perfect team

2. On the backside (on the butt) write I am for you 100 %

3. I will always have your backside

I think this may turn into a valentine card for Jeff.

On the butt I chalked it with light pink chalk to her rosey cheeks. This is one card (the front is the bra the back of the card is the butt)

Disney Cinderella Meet N Greet

Today I made this layout from our 2006 trip to Disney. It was one of those layouts that just didn't want to corporate with me. I wanted to mat the pictures, I thought I had enough of the cardstock in the colors I needed to mat the pictures. I got half way through and realized I didn't, so I had the mats only on the bottom and top of the pictures not the side. Then the idea came to me, I have ribbon that would match perfectly. Its hard to tell from the pictures but along the side of the pictures I used ribbon. The title of Cinderella and the pumpkin vine were made on the cricut using the Dreams Come True Cartridge. Then I went over the title with Stickles, I love that stuff. The Cinderella in the bottom right corner is an epoxy sticker that I got from my sister when we returned from our trip. Its hard to tell from the picture but the background paper has little vines embossed on it (it came that way).
Thanks for Looking!
I came across this Cinderella Bed on Google. It is a gorgeous bed but at the price of $47,000.00 I will pass on this. With that type of money I could really go to WDW and live it up. LOL! The Fanstasy Coach measures 9′6″L x 5′6″W x 8′H and it’s available for a whopping $47,000. Wow!

Sunday Scrapper #10

I worked on my layout today and then when I was done I was looking forward to the start of a new week with the Sunday Scrapper Group. I tell you this group along with my SisterHood group has really helped me to stay motivated. I can't believe how many cards and pages I have done so far, and its only Jan. 19! YEAH! They say the first step to getting help is admitting you have an addiction so here it goes I'm Addicted to Sunday Scrapper! Even though I'm admitting I don't want help for my addiction, please let me continue down this path of making many cards ahead of time and making scrapbook pages for my family and friends to enjoy!

This weeks question is: Which of your recent projects were you the most proud of?
I am very proud of how my Buddy Layout of Smell the Lilles turn out. The pictures I used on that layout are some of my favorite pictures from when Buddy was a puppy. I just love how he is smelling the flowers and that curious look on that adorable puppy face. Plus, I am proud of it because I am slowly improving as a scrapbooker and it shows.

This weeks goals:

* I have another valentine card idea that I want to make

* I have a birthday card idea for Jeff that I want to make (but I can't post a picture of it until after Feb. 10 sorry :( He subscribes to my blog --- I think he does it for sneak peaks LOL)

* Make a disney scrapbook page (either one or two pages not sure yet)

* A Buddy page (I think this one will be a one pager)

* I found a folder of scrapbook frames that I want to organize (I still need another one of those 6 drawer totes in time -- I'm slowly getting organized but for the frames that I already have drawers for they can go in there)

*A card of some sort (birthday, just because, anniversary etc)

Stop to Smell the Lilies

Today I worked on a scrapbook layout of my dog Buddy from when he was a puppy. I am very pleased with my layout. I normally I'm not a flowery person but for my birthday and christmas I received a lot of flowers and I had some of my own that I figured I should start to use.

For the good stuff: The photo corners on the main image of Buddy are from Scrapbook Flair free digital kit Sundrenched (they have a bunch of digital freebies and digital kits you can buy but I downnload the freebies and being I'm not a digital scrapbooker I print the embellishments and paper for my own scrapbooks) when I printed the photo corners they were bigger then I wanted so I shrunk them down on my scanner. The organge flowery paper is from DCWV Everyday paper packet (great paper packet it has 360 sheets of paper for every thing you can imagine plus I got it for a great deal on sale). The solid yellow paper I got along time ago at http://www.scrapbooks.com/ its the Pear Yellow Flecks. I printed the title on my computer using a free font I downloaded from the web called Leaf 1 and I printed that onto vellum . Used various flowers and brads. The oval journal box was made using the cricut George cart and then I handwrote the journaling with a SU Marker in the color of Really Rust. The basic idea of the layout came from Valerie's Sketches #19. I was orginally going to follow her sketch to a tee but then Jeff moved my layout and I was able with the shift it made and here we are with this design. LOL!

Thanks for looking!

I've been tagged

I was tagged today by Krista, which is always a lot of fun.

Here are the rules:

Link to the person that tagged you and leave a comment on their blog, so that their readers can visit yours.
Post the rules on your blog.
Share 7 strange/weird facts about yourself on your blog.
Tag 7 random people at the bottom of your post, linking to their blog.
Let each person know by leaving a comment on their blog.

Here is my list of 7 Random things about me

1. When I stick my tongue out regardless of how hard I try my tongue curls upwards. I can't help it.

2. When I getting really laughing one of two things happen 1. people either laugh at me or 2. I clear the room because I have a loud laugh. If its something really funny forget it I have a high picture hackle as some call it. If I'm just laughing or giggling I'm fine.

3. I was an only child for 17 years of my life plus growing up I was the youngest out of all the cousins so I was extremely spoiled.

4. I am allergic to choclate, I break out in the hives and have a hard time breathing. But this doesn't stop me from eatting choclate. I have it down to a science I know how much I can eat before I will have attack. So I eat just till I get to that point then stop. I'm good at stopping if I know the next bite I take will be the start of an attack.

5. Regardless of what the item is, could be clothing, shoes, household items, scrapbook items or any craf item if it is marked clearanced I must have it. Hey you never know when you might need that item and it won't be available any more after it has sold out.

6. I have so much junk that is stored in our shed that it is actually starting to cave into the ground from all the weight. I have to go through it and have a tag sale but I hate parting with anything. I still have ALL my teddy bears and stuffed animals (and I have lots) from when I was a little girl (care bears, punky brewster doll, rainbow bright, etc.)

7. We have not feed our dog actually dog food since the dog food recall was first announced. I am afraid to give him dog feed even though they say it is okay. He gets "Human Food" and then vitamins to get the nutrients that he doesn't get from our food.

Now the hard part to tagg 7 people. The 7 people I am going to tag are:

Dawn
Kara
Wendy
Ellie
Alisha

Woof You Valentine

Tonight while chatting on the phone with my little sister (got to love speaker phone) I was able to make this card. Usually I will chat with her for a few then tell her I got to go work on a card or page. Tonight I wanted to chat forever with her because our family is extremely thankful to have her with us today. Yesterday she and a friend were working on a school projects (taking pictures of different trees and weeds) when she lost her balance and feel into the pond in my parents back yard. Down she went through the ice. I guess the one time when she went to come back up she ended up under the age. Thankfully her friend who is 12 kept her cool and remained calm and was able to get my sister out. We are thankful for the friend. My sister is doing well, just still shaken up.

For my card: I used the template from SCS (at least that is where I think I got it from, I had it saved to my computer from Valentines Day last year and I'm finally getting around to using it).
The pattern paper and cardstock is from my stash. The green paper in behide the dog I printed from my computer the saying I Woof You being that I didn't have actually paper that said that or any other doggie themed paper that went well for a valentine so I created my own. The dog stamp is from AC Moore. Sorry the picture isn't the greatest.

What Color is Your Brain

This is another one that is right on.

Your Brain is Red

Of all the brain types, yours is the most impulsive.

If you think it, you do it. And you can get the bug to pursue almost any passion.

Your thoughts are big and bold. Your mind has no inhibitions.

You tend to spend a lot of time thinking about love, your dreams, and distant places.

Tweet Thing

Sorry, but I don't have no story to go with this card. LOL! I'm sure your all relief of that.
The embossing was done with the cuttlebug with the Divine Swirl embossing folder (thank you to the cricut birthday club - I received this embossing folder). The stamp is from yup you guessed it from CC Designs Love Ya Much stamp set. I colored some of the swirls in with chalk to match the birds colors.

My Okay Spinner

Tonight I played with my new Stamps from All That Scraps . Well, this card was one of those ideas that was better looking in my head then on paper. The concept of the card and the dog of course is cute but I'm not sure if I'm feeling this card. I don't hate it but it just doesn't have that piazza to it. But I had to play with the dog stamp being that Ellie bought to Buddy (my dog's attention last night that I made a cat card first before a dog card with the new stamp sets - Thanks Ellie LOL)

The dog stamped image is part of the Love Ya Much stamp set by CC Designs. Background paper is from DCWV Everyday Paper Packet. The blue cardstock is from my stash. The stamp that came with the set that said "Your so Dog-Gone Cute wasn't working in my window and I wasn't getting it to work and I was loosing my patients with it so I typed it on the computer (yeah I cheatted). This is my first ever spinner card. It was made to look like the dog was playing in the flowers.

A Pleasant Surprise

When I come home from work the first thing I do is change my clothes (hate those damn panty hose things), then usually its dinner time after dinner I check my email. I am subscribed to Dawn's Blog (I love her blog) and she was given the You Make My Day Award and she passed it on to me and a few other bloggers. Yes ME!! I was so excited and it made me feel so good. Thank you so much Dawn!

I would like to pass this onto those that make me smile:

Thank you so much Dawn, you have truely made my day!

Cat Valentine Card

You know by now I can't upload a card or page without a story. LOL! So here goes this story.

On Jan. 4 All That Scraps released 2 new CC Design Stamp sets Love Ya Lots and Love Ya Much at midnight. My friend Ellie and I stayed up till midnight so that we could order our stamps. We had to order them within seconds a part from each other, and we both live in NY (different parts though). Last week Ellie received her stamps and she began to play with them, like any stamper would. I was teasing her because I didn't receive mine yet. She would say she really hasn't played with her stamps that much I would say that's because she feels guilty that her stamps came and mine didn't. My stamps arrived today. I was excited to get them but I had no attention to play with them this evening, I mean I have Prison Break to watch on TV today. Then I felt guilty just a little about all teasing I did to Ellie if she found out that I received my stamps and didn't play she would really give it to me. So this is the card I made.
The background heart paper is by Making Memories StarDust Hearts and Pastel Pink, its hard to tell in the picture but the hearts have a little glitter on them (that's the way the paper is). The pink dotted paper and pink cardstock is from my stash. The Stamp is the cat from the Love Ya Lots Stamp set. The Cat is holding a flower I had a prima with a brad over the image.

What does your name mean

I found this on Ellie's blog (that girl always has great sites to share whether it be another blog or a shopping site). Also, Thank you to Ellie I came across Alison's Blog (Where Ellie orginally got this from), great blog check it but of course not until your done reading my blog ;)

This is pretty much 100% accurate.

What Christina Means
You are very open. You communicate well, and you connect with other people easily.
You are a naturally creative person. Ideas just flow from your mind.
A true chameleon, you are many things at different points in your life. You are very adaptable.

You are truly an original person. You have amazing ideas, and the power to carry them out.
Success comes rather easily for you... especially in business and academia.
Some people find you to be selfish and a bit overbearing. You're a strong person.

You are wild, crazy, and a huge rebel. You're always up to something.
You have a ton of energy, and most people can't handle you. You're very intense.
You definitely are a handful, and you're likely to get in trouble. But your kind of trouble is a lot of fun.

You tend to be pretty tightly wound. It's easy to get you excited... which can be a good or bad thing.
You have a lot of enthusiasm, but it fades rather quickly. You don't stick with any one thing for very long.
You have the drive to accomplish a lot in a short amount of time. Your biggest problem is making sure you finish the projects you start.

You are the total package - suave, sexy, smart, and strong.
You have the whole world under your spell, and you can influence almost everyone you know.
You don't always resist your urges to crush the weak. Just remember, they don't have as much going for them as you do.

You are confident, authoritative, and aggressive.
You have the classic "Type A" personality.

A Yummy Valentine

I just can't stop today. I have all kinds of ideas flowing through my head, I was good I wrote them now. I'm really excited about the card I'm going to make for Jeff, not sure if it will be the Valentine or a birthday card. Hmm...still have to figure that part out.
For this card here the House Mouse stamped image was from my stash. A few years back on a message board I hosted a House Mouse stamped image swap and I got some cute ones in return. The background paper I had in my stash. I matted it onto purple cardstock. After I was done I thought the card was missing something. Some people love to layer well I love to pop dot everything. If its missing something and the card isn't "popping at me" I use pop dots. I'm serious. For some of the candies on the pattern paper I pop dotted them. Cute little valentine card. One last thing to share then I will shut up and go to bed. While making the card I was thinking I love these cute little House Mouse mice and I worship Mickey Mouse but yet if a little mouse was to creep into our house I would bug out and scream and run. Very interesting!

Sunday Scrapper Update

Today I woke up I organized my paper rack then I sat at my craft table and haven't moved. I made a card (the valentine boxer card) and then went right into making my 2 page layout of the Disney All Star Music Hotel. I really don't know what gotten into me today, I'm not complaining at all. LOL! Usually when I make a layout I have to draw it out then debate, then debate some more what pictures to use, then scan the internet for page maps then go back to debate which pictures then I scrap. But no not today. I printed the pictures sat down and it just all came to together. I hope many more days like this are in the future. Before I knew it my goals for the week were already completed and its only Sunday. So I am going to set some more goals for this week.

This week additonal goals:

I have 2 card ideas that I want to make
I would also like to complete another scrapbook page this week.

Boxer Short Valentine

Today I made this cute little boxer short valentine. I used DCWV Sweetheart paper that I had in my stash. Thought this paper would make cute little boxer shorts kind of like the silky ones you see in the store. For the buttons I used 2 silver heart brads. The ribbon is from All That Scraps. Sorry, I'm not sure where I found the template at, I saved it to my documents.

Disney All Stars Music Hotel

During our trip to WDW in 2006 we stayed the week at Disney's All Star Music Hotel. This is the layout I made today.

The paper is from SEI Kaboom Gotcha Green. Along the top and bottom of the pages I used a wheel stamp that I got at Michaels of musical instruments and notes, rolled it in SU Handsome Hunter ink. I colored some of the muscial notes in black to match up with the journaling box. The journaling box I had for a long time it come with a bunch of other journaling blocks. It was to small for my layout so I enlarged it on my scanner/printer. The hotel logo in the middle I printed from a Site that has all the disney hotel logos. I printed the logo onto cardstock and then printed again and then cut out the banner part of "Music" and popped dotted it onto the first printout. On page 2 in the upper right hand corner is a pocket envelope with Mickey & Friends that I bought, it holds our tickets ("to the world").

We would like to go back to WDW next year. So my goal for the year is to complete my disney album. Still have a lot to do.

Sunday Scrapper #9

My Ta Da's for this week were the Snow Dog page and the Have a Poppin Birthday Card (see below).

This weeks question is: If you could only do one kind of paper crafts for the rest of your life, which craft would you pick? At first I thought ONLY ONE! Then quickly came to mind was cardmaking. My family would be highly disappointed if I gave up cardmaking. They look forward to the card more then the gift. Serious! For example the one christmas we didn't handout handmade christmas cards because I wasn't not in the spirit or mood to make cards being that our baby passed away a few weeks earlier to SIDS. So we handed out regular store bought cards, each were individual picked for each person, just like if I was making cards. When they opened the cards you can see the look of disappointment on there face, especially my sister but no one said anything they understood.

This weeks goals:

*Complete a scrapbook layout of some sort (disney, buddy, holidays, etc.)
*Complete a card of some sort (anniversary, birthday, valentine etc.)

Snow Dog

I first want to start by saying that this page layout was scraplifted from the CTMH Autumn/Winter 2007 Idea Book page 64.

Buddy loves, I stress loves the snow whether its playing in it or eating it. Yes, the top left hand picture (the largest picture on the page) is a picture of the dog with a mouth full of snow. I will sit on the ground in front of him and throw snowballs at him. We love watching him catch them. I just want to clarify -- we never ever throw or play in the yellow snow.

For the squares, journal box, and all the lettering I used the cricut george cartridge. In the mail today which arrived at a great time was a package from my Birthday club on the cricut message board and inside was Snow Writer, I used that on the letters to give it the snow look, must add I love this stuff and need to find out where I can buy more, especially since I do a lot of snow pages. The snow flakes are from CTMH Snowman Holidays Stamp Set. I love these pictures of buddy on this page, he is my baby!!

Journaling Reads: Jan. 01, 2008 - Buddy loves to play in the snow. He especially loves to eat the snow. Buddy also loves to stick his head into the snow. When you throw a snowball to Buddy you better throw it fast otherwise he will charge you for it and you can always guarantee he will catch it in his mouth. Buddy is our snow dog!

I am pleased to say that another week as passed, and once again my goals have been completed. I wasn't feeling great today but I knew all of you were watching and I knew I had to suck it up and get those goals done. So thank you for keeping close tabs on me. LOL!

Splash of Impishness

A Better Day

Thank you everyone for your kinds words regarding the horrible day I had yesterday. Thank you to everyone's well wishes I had a good day. It started off rough but it quickly made a turn for the better. I'm a little upset this evening I went to place an online order to find out that I can't because the security code on the credit card is worn off as Jeff would say "from to much use". LOL! And the bank doesn't know the code for security purposes. I guess it was an order that wasn't ment to be. The good news is I work for the bank so I can get a rush on a new card. LOL! I just wanted to let everyone know today was a better day and tomorrow will be even better because its TGIF!!!! Hope everyone has a great weekend. I plan to scrap this weekend.

I want to especially thank Amy, you gave me the inspiration last night to make a card. LOL! Your post was echoing in my head about how I've been quiet this week and I kept saying I can't be quiet I have gotten off to a great start with my goals I need to keep it up. So a special thank you goes out to you. Thank you to Ellie because the last several days she has been wonderful she has listened to me rant. Gee I feel like I'm at the oscars LOL! Thank you Jeff for putting up with my attitude. He was being a sweet heart because I have been so cranky all I do is snap at him and he is so good he just gets up and walks away from me. Thank you thank you!

Have A Poppin Birthday

I was really cranky tonight because my job this week has been very stressful. I want to make sure I stick to my goals so tonight I made another birthday card. Not really sure if I'm liking it or not, could just be the mood I'm in. When your cranky and your don't doesn't go well don't expect to make a card with smooth sailing. Even though this is a basic card what a time I had making it. Hopefully Friday I will look back at this post and be able to laugh.

About my card. I used the House Mouse Stamp "Poppin Good Birthday". The popcorn paper I had in my stash, I found it tonight when I began to organize my paper (DH got me a Paper Rack for my b-day and it arrived yesterday). I pop dotted the main image and the word Poppin on the saying. Along the side I used yellow and white fibers (seems to be my new addiction).

I'm half way through my goals for this week, just have to work on a layout this week which I will save for the weekend. I will not attempt a layout tonight. LOL!

Tag I'm it 2 times!

I have been having a stressful week at work. I was really excited and it cheered it me when I came home to find out that I have been tagged twice by Michelle and Dawn.

I have to list 7 things about myself that you may or may not already know. Here it goes

* I can live on Spaghetti

* People think myself or my sister were adopted because there are 17 years difference between us but we do have the same birth mom and dad

* I am a huge disney fan especially mickey mouse

* I work for a bank and I am horrible at saving even though at one time my job was to help people save - hey I don't practice what I preach LOL!!

* I am a country girl but growing up always wished I lived in the big city - thought if I lived in the city life wouldn't be so boring. When I was younger my Uncle took me to the Bronx for the day and I quickly changed my mind that the city life wasn't for me.

* I hate doing dishes. On any given day that you come to my house there will be dishes piled in the sink. My motto is why do dishes when you can stamp. LOL! DH loves that one!

*I'm a kid stuck in a big girl body. For example when we went to Disney we waited patiently our turn (sometimes over an hour) to meet the characters and get an autograph.

Thank you Michelle and Dawn for tagging me so the next 7 people I will tag are (now the hard part):
Amy, Wendy, Bella Carta, Jennifer, Diaries of a Stamper, Shaz X, Meayla

Sunday Scrapper Week of 1/6/08

This week's Sunday Scrapper question is Do you prefer to stick with only big name-brand supplies (Creative Memories, Stampin' Up, etc.) or do you usually buy less expensive supplies? No. I buy what ever I like regardless of the name. I was never really a brand name shopper for anything. I do have some name brand supplies like CTMH or SU but that is only because I like that particular stamp or particular paper. Years from now when people are looking through my scrapbooks or when I give a card they are not like Oh look at that page she used Brazil paper and a SU stamp. The only person who is going to know what brands I used is me and maybe my blogging friends when I post a creation. LOL! I am easily content going to the dollar store and buying their paper or stamps. The dollar store has a lot of cute scrapbooking items. The only problem I have is if its named Clearance I have to have it regardless of what it is. I don't want there to be a time that I am working on a page and I think oh yeah that embellishment in Michael's would be perfect to go to their store and find out its been clearanced and no longer offered. Jeff tries very hard to keep me away from clearance aisles.

This Weeks Goals:

To complete a layout of some sort either disney or of Buddy (the dog)
To complete another card of sorts (valentine, birthday, or just because)

Have a wonderful scraping and stamping week!

Sunday Scrapper - Goals Complete for the Week

This week on Sunday Scrapper I set a goal to complete one card and to complete a layout from our 2006 trip. I completed the disney layout, my Mary Poppins page and I completed 3 cards. I am excited and hope to continue on this path. Hope everyone else is sticking to their goals. I will be back tomorrow to set another goal for this coming week!

Howdy Partner Card

This cowboy stamp is just the cutest. I purchased him from All That Scraps. I colored him in with colored pencil, I really need to get copic markers. The saying "Howdy Partner" was done on the computer with the Wild West font that I downloaded for free. The fiber on the side of the card isn't black like shown in the picture it is more of a marroon color to match the card.

Cupcake Birthday Cards

I made this cards for no one in particular, just trying to have cards on hand when birthdays come up. The cupcakes are from the cricut doodlecharms cart. The candle is actually I brad that I had. The pattern paper is from Tim Coffey 8 1/2 x 8 1/2 Birthday paper pad. Its hard to tell in the picture but the cupcakes were pop dotted.

Mary Poppins Layout -Stars & Motor Parade

You will notice that I don't scrap in any particular order. I scrap as a page layout comes to mind. This is another page for my disney album. The pattern paper is from DCWV EveryDay paper Stack (thank you Jeff for the B-day gift) the mats are cardstock from my scrap pile. The penguins....oh the penguins....what a time I had making them. I used the cricut Animal Kingdom cart but the problem was the penguin had a baby penguin in front of it and that really didn't work for this page so I had to cut it out in the blackout feature and then keep cutting it to get the pieces in black and white so I could layer it. Then I put a red ribbon around its neck like the bow tie on the penguins in the parade picture. The horse is from Dreams Come True Cricut Cart, used that to match the horse Mary Poppins is on. The pole under the horse is actually the wand for the Fairy Godmother but I cut the wand part of so I had just the pole. To see more of my disney album you can view those layouts in webshots album at http://good-times.webshots.com/album/556732428BLmjtH - Edit The Horse and pole idea came from Snowdrop on the cricut board from her Mary Poppins Page - Thanks for the inspiration! Sorry I din't know who you were earlier to give you the proper credit.

Hope everyone that shares a birthday with me today has a wondeful birthday! Its hard to believe that I will be 30 years old today. Actually right now I am still 29 because I was born on 1/3/78 at 11:15 a.m. and it is only 10:55 right now, I still have a few more minutes to savor being 29. LOL!

Free Mammogram

It was on the radio this morning that the American Cancer Society has not received enough clicks onto their website to give enough free mammogram test to needy women. They are below ther limit. It takes less then a minute to do and you don't have to sign up for anything, no account needed. You go to the website http://www.thebreastcancersite.com/clickToGive/home.faces?siteId=2 there will be a box that reads click here its free you click the box and the next screen will appear thanking you and that it is. I am sure that we all have a friend or relative that has breast cancer, this is our way to give back a little to those less fourtante then us. If you do signup on the website they will send you a free Pink Ribbon Pin, but again you DO NOT HAVE TO SIGN UP FOR ANYTHING. You can also sign up for email reminders so that you get a daily reminder to do your "click". If everyone that reads this goes to the site and clicks and then they tell a friend and they click and so fourth we can make a small difference. There is also the link to the right of my page above where you would sign up to subscribe to my blog (that link will always be there). Thank you!

Sunday Scrapper

Thank you once again to my good friend Ellie
( http://scrapbookmamaof4kidz.blogspot.com/) I found the Sunday Scrapper group (http://sundayscrappin.blogspot.com/). It is a group of scrapbookers and cardmakers that help you to stick to your goals. I need all the help I can get in helping me stick to my goals.

This weeks question is: What are your scrapbooking goals for 2008 (I know your all sick of hearing about my goals -- sorry)
1. To Scrapbook at least once a week
2. To have at least 52 pages completed on Dec. 31, 2008
3. To send out more handmade cards for bdays, holidays and just because
4. To have my cards completed ahead of time so the night before a bday party I am not scrambling for a card idea and being up until midnight making the card

This weeks goals:
1. To complete at least one scrapbook page from our 2006 WDW trip
2. To complete a card of some type (birthday, valentine ect.)

I look forward to being part of Sunday Scrapper. I agree, Sunday's are great days to scrap! Thank you for having me be part of your group!

Valentine Day Card

Today I worked on a Valentine Card. AllThatScraps (http://www.allthatscraps.com/) is coming out with 2 cute stamp sets this Friday and they scream Valentine's Day! I so need to get them when they come out. All day I was trying to convience myself I don't need those stamps and I was trying to come out with some card ideas and every idea took me back to those stamps that are being released Friday! I'm serious! I was able to get pass that knowing I am going to order them. Once I decided I just have to have them I was able to make this card. All the paper used came out of my scrap pile. The Heart is a stamp from the dollar store, I had it for awhile. The Love stamp is another stamp I had for a long time. The Love stamp has heart confetti around it so I colored in the word love with markers in gray to match the silver on the ribbon. I chalked around the edges. The heart stamp is pop dotted onto the ribbon. I love Valentine's day because of the pinks we get to use, my favorite color is pink.

Counting Pages

What is the correct way to count your scrapbooking pages? Does a 2 page layout count as 1 page or 2 pages? I believe that a 2 page spread is counted as 1 page. Some may think that what I am about ready to say isn't fair but first hear me out on this. We are all aware by now that my New Year's resolution is to scrap a page a week. I will be counting a 2 page spread as 2 pages. Now that doesn't mean that this week I scrapped 2 pages so I can skip scrapbooking next week the goal is to actually scrap EACH WEEK! It only makes sense to me to count a 2 page spread as 2 pages because when you buy a book and you open it up there is a page on the left and a page on the right, each of those pages have their own individual page number. So I think its only fair to count each page regardless if its only a page or 2 page layout. I know, I'm anal. How do you count your pages?

So actually my New Years Resolution is 2 parts - To Scrap at least once a week and on Dec. 31,2008 to have completed at least 52 pages.

First Layout of The Year

First I want to say Happy New Year Everyone. Today it snowed so Jeff and I played with Buddy (our dog) outside. I don't know who loves to play in the snow more us or the dog. When I came in I figured I better keep to my resolution of a page a week, so I made this layout. Its a simple layout. For the title I used Creative Delights Campanion (http://www.letteringdelights.com/) font Tidings of Joy. The background paper had christmas lights on it and I had stickers of christmas bulbs that I put on a few of the lights. I am proud, I even journaled on the page (somethingI usually forget, but I'm getting better). And the red photo mats were taken out of my scrap pile, the green...well I didn't have that color in my scraps.
