Blog Candy Give Away

This evening I came across Bunny-Zoe's Blog. She has a lot of great creations on her blog, I will be visiting her blog often for inspiration. She also is giving away some great blog candy, when you got a chance check out her blog.

Thank you card - PaperTake Challenge

This weeks challenge at PaperTake is, Thanks a Latte, is to make a thank you card! There's an optional extra to use coffee and cream colours too (the Latte bit lol!). I think I may go back an make another thank you card later in the week using the coffee and cream colours. I never seem to have thank you cards on hand when needed, I must admit I am a slacker when it comes to sending out thank you cards so maybe if I keep a few on hand I will be forced to send them.

The image is from an image swap on SCS. The embossing on the side was done on the cuttlebug using the Stylized Flower embossing folder, I inked it up with SU Orchid Opulence ink and ran it through the cuttlebug (I love this look).

I received this fabulous award from my new blogging friend SoutehrnFairyDesigns. It is always such an honor to receive this awards.

Now I have to pass this onto 7 other brilliante bloggers. The winners are:
Dawn, Amy, Melstampz, Melanie, Lee, Valita, Sharon

Care Bear Birthday Card

My sister and her friend share the same birthday (July 6) they are an hour apart I believe. Kay's friend likes Carebears and her favorite is Love A lot Bear (the orange care bear) so I made her this card. At first I had the carebear on a different card backing and then I was going through my paper for a different card and came across the pattern paper (from DCWV EveryDay paper pack) and I changed it. The care bear is a coloring sheet that I printed from the web and I shrunk it down to fit my card. I stickled (I love stickles I just want to stickle everything) the nose and heart on the tummy.

Sunday Scrappin # 34

Happy Sunday everyone! I know I ask almost every week but really where does the time go?? Next weekend is the 4th of July already. When you have a chance go over and say hi to the creative girls at Sunday Scrappin, the host Amy is a wonderful.

TA DA's

Here is the original page Disney Statues when I was done I wasn't happy with it so I added one small detail to the page and I was happy with here Disney Statues Redo

Time to Grill card

Cheers to you birthday card

Put on your party hat birthday card

Just Bee-Cause card

Last weeks challenge on Sunday Scrappin was to do something sparkly. I did make something but I can't post it. I made my sister her birthday card but I can not post it until after her birthday (July 6). She is a nosey little girl, she keeps spying on my blog in hopes to get a peek at her card (sorry Kay, you'll have to wait until I give it to you).

TO DO'S

Keep taking part in various challenges. These challenges are a great way to get some cards done ahead of time and a great way to think outside of the box and make things you normally wouldn't have done.

I'm waiting for my paper packet to arrive from Joanns (ordered online) should be here the end of the week so I can work on a layout.

I have a layout idea to make of our son Dylan but its just a matter of getting the strength up to create the page. I have a difficulty time making his pages because I want them to be special and perfect. And it seems no matter what I do with his album it's just not good enough. We'll see, this one may be on the To Do list for awhile.

This weeks Sunday Scrappin Challenge is in honor of the 4th of July holiday: something patriotic. Your project can be red, white and blue, or include a flag, or be a military layout, or include anything else that feels patriotic to you.

My summer scrapbooking vow / Idea

(Can't raise my right hand - I type with that hand- sorry). I Christina swear that I will not buy another piece of scrapbooking paper the rest of the summer with the exception of possibly needing princess themed paper to make my nieces birthday card and with an exception I need to buy baby girl themed paper to make my coworker Kathy's daughter a scrapbook (my coworker Mary and I are working on this project together and we need to get busy) I only have boy themed items . For everything else I will use the paper that I have on hand already to make all of my cards and layouts regardless of how pretty, how perfect it would be for a page or card, and regardless of of it being on sale or clearance. Instead if I need to buy anything I will concentrate more on my stamps and other supplies (ribbon, embossing powders, ink etc).

For the record earlier today I ordered a DCWV Summer Paper Packet from Joann.com (180 sheets of paper). This will be my last paper order for the summer. And yes Jeff there you go you have it in writing and can use it against me.

Next week I'm off from work for several days and I think I may go through my paper and weed at the ones I will never use. Anyone interested in a paper swap once I go through it. I will give you "X" amount of various themed paper for "X" amount of your choice themed paper. This way we can trade out what we won't use and still get new (which will feed paper addiction LOL). If your interested leave me a message on this post or email me. If you have a different idea I'm open for suggestions.

Just Bee-Cause

This weeks challenge on SBS18 was to make a card using the theme "Just to Say". As soon as I saw this weeks challenge I knew what I wanted to make. The hunny pot and bee's are from Cricut Pooh and Friends Cartridge (That's right the Hunny Pot is Pooh Bears). On the inside I did the saying Just Bee-Cause on my computer and the bees are stickers that I had since the beginning of time. I left the rest of the saying to fill in at a later time. The card can be used for several different purposes (Just Bee-Cause I love you, I was thinking of you, You are so kind, You are so thoughtful etc). Right now I don't have a purpose for the card so I left that part to be filled in at a later time.

Put on your Party Hat

I recently came across Stamps, Scraps n more challenge blog. This weeks challenge was to use your bella stamps. I don't have any bella stamps I have been lucky enough to have receive a few images from swaps and RAK's (Random Act of Kindness). I made this card. I cut the idea of cutting around her balloons and party hat from Prairie Paper & Ink (but mind didn't turn out as nice as hers). Now that I'm really getting to my hobby more I'm going to invest in a decent set of markers or pencils, any suggestions?? The basic layout of the card came from a sketch from Card Inspired by Maria (I do apologize I printed out the sketch, I can't locate it on her blog now, I will look again later). I put stickles on several the hats, bella's scream stickles to me.

Cheers To You - PaperTake Challenge

This weeks challenge on PaperTake was a sketch by Katharina. This week is a cute little sketch, I may just make another card this week using this sketch. I'm really enjoying doing these challenges.
On the middle strip under the Happy Birthday ribbon I used my SU Confetti Stamp Wheel and inked it very lightly (so lite you can't even see it in the picture) I didn't want to overpower the pattern paper already on the card. The party hat and swirl at the bottom were cut on the cricut (doodlecharms and mickey & friends cartridges). The saying in the upper right corner is SU Lots of Thoughts Stamp Set. Actually, this card could be used as a masculine birthday card, it's not to girly.

Disney Statues Re-Do

The original post can be see here. It was driving me crazy and then to make matters worse Jeff walks in the room and he says "It's not centered" I wanted to scream and actually I did. We sat down for dinner and ranted about my page. Then Jeff towards to me and says "See this is why you should have called me in to look at like you normally do". WHAT!! No way he just did not say that, he normally comes in takes a quick glance and says "nice". I didn't think he actually paid attention. Any how, I added the year down the side to off set the page and I was able to take a better picture with my other camera. I feel better about this page now, I'm happy and will be able to sleep good tonight.

Time to Grill

I received this Handsome Fella from a image swap recently. It's okay card, I guess today wasn't my day craft wise. There is nothing fancy about the card. The pattern paper is by Pebbles Inc. BBQ Words. I used the blue cardstock to match his shorts and the they mustardy color to pull the words out of the pattern paper. The frying pan brads are from an embellishment swap that I received awhile back. I have more of this image I'll have to play with it and do a different style with it.

Disney Statues

Ever make a layout and you stare and stare at it and you see nothing wrong but then you go to upload a picture to your blog or gallery and you notice something is drastically wrong? That's just what happened to me with this layout. I was pleased with it until I took a picture. It isn't centered, how could I miss that. My original plan was to put the title going down the side (that's why the circle wasn't centered) then after I got done I changed my mind and put the title in the center. I originally got the page idea from the disboard (3rd post up from the bottom). But I didn't do her page any justice at all. My page isn't bad but its not centered. I also did this for the OCC Challenge (use at least 1 brad and at least 1 button), this was my first time taking part in their challenges. The background paper is hard to tell but its pink not brown/creame the circle is brown though.
** Speaking of pages not being centered I have a story to share (craft related) I recently made a bride card for a co-worker (which I normally don't make cards for co-workers). I was proud of the way the card came out and the one girl knew I made a card and she wanted to see it (she always ask to see my cards/albums). I took it into and another coworker heard the girl drooling over it and came over to check it out. Can you believe she pointed out everything that was wrong with the card , even going as far as to say "It's Tacky". The girl who I bought the card in to show (not the recipient of the card) was mad, I wanted to cry. She asked the other coworker what is wrong with you, you have no taste, I just walked away. Word got out through out the office/building and everyone wanted to see the card everyone else loved it and were in rage when I said I will not be giving the card to the "bride". I thought about this when I saw my disney page wasn't centered, her words echoed in my head. Because the other thing she pointed out was that the bride wasn't centered, no one else saw that. Because she kept asking don't you see what's wrong to the other girl and she was honestly clueless - she wasn't trying to nice and act like she didn't notice what was wrong you could tell from the blank stare on her face. Then she screamed it's not centered!! They all said it's not suppose to be centered a bride doesn't stand like she's "in the military". Lastly, I did the card in the girls wedding colors the evil coworker even pointed out how the colors where "the wrong choice and the clash".

Sunday Scrappin #33

Good morning! Were is the time going, before you know it the 4th of July will be here, which I'm looking forward to because I'm on vacation then (no work for 6 whole days)!!! It's Sunday Scrappin Time . I loved this past weeks challenge, I probably wouldn't have thought about scrappin these pictures just yet if it wasn't for the challenge, so thank you Amy for doing these challenges. Here are the pages that I did for the challenge:
The rest of My TA DA's:
Double Whammy Lilac Card (this was for 2 challenges)
Day Dreamer Scrapbook page (I love this page)
TA DO's:
I've been doing good with taking part in challenges on different blogs, I want to keep that up.
*finish my sister's friend's birthday card (they share the same birthday)

*start thinking about my nieces birthday card (I'm thinking maybe a princess card not sure)
*work on a scrapbook page or two
This weeks Sunday Scrapppin Challenge is to do something sparkly! It can be glitter, shiny stickers, whatever. This is another one of those challenges that are right up my alley!!!

Petting Zoo

This is another layout from our last trip to CT. Jeff's uncles family owns a small little farm and they house the animals across the street from their home (they have loads of land) and people go there all the time to feed the animals (ostrich, bulls, ducks, cows, etc). My sister in law takes the kids there once a week, they love it. On this particular occasion Summer was in shock when she pulled the bread out of the bag and it was green (molded). It was funny, she quickly gave the bread to Uncle Jeff (see the look on her face in the picture bottom right).

Page Recipe:

Paper: CTMH Expedition Level 2 Paper Packet

Embellishments: title and embellishments are from my stash, its a 12x12 sheet that you cut out of different zoo embellishments.

Day Dreamer

This page is of my niece Summer from our last trip to visit her. She is such a cutie. Thesolid paper is from my stash, and the pattern paper is from Crate Paper Twirl Collection Girly Girl. I wanted to go with a more soft look to the page, more of dreamer look. The Pattern paper is double sided so I took the left over flipped it over and printed my journaling and title on it. The flowers under the title are from TLC rubons (if you look the last flower messed up the rubon slipped but its not the noticeable)- I would have redone it put I only had one package of the rubons. Journaling Reads: I would give anything to know what was going through Summer's mind on the Spring afternoon of May 31, 2008. What ever sh was thinking about there is no question she was in deep thought.

Dog....Man's Best Friend

This weeks Sunday Scrappin Challenge was an animal theme, make anything that has to do with an animal. I knew right away when I saw the challenge that I would do some sort of scrapbook page of my Buddy (my dog). These 2 pictures on the page are 2 of my favorite of Jeff and Buddy. I especially love the one in the upper left because Buddy is looking at the camera (that rarely occurs, usually when the camera turns on Buddy runs). The pattern paper is from Colorblok and the stickers are from a NSSSF Swap (Not So Secret Scrapbooking Friend). The sticker in the upper right corner reads D is for Dog. The one in the bottom left reads Dog 1. Domesticated mammal 2. Canine 3. Faithful 4. Fur with a tongue. The title was done on my computer I used a free font that I downloaded (I'm a free font junkie - I will never pay for another font again). The brads in the corners of the title are little dog paws from my stash.
I'm Proud to say all the challenges for this week are completed, Lee will be real proud of me.

Double Whammy - 2 challenges in 1

I was able to complete 2 challenges using the same card, YEAH!!! My friend Lee is always doing all sorts of challenges on her blog and I keep saying to her I want to start doing more challenges. I think I've told her that since I started commenting her blog months ago, finally Lee I've taken part in challenges (its my second week now).

The first challenge is from SBS18 Challenge Group Challenge this week is to use the color Lilac.

Second challenge is this weeks sketch challenge on SCS . Can you believe both challenges came out today (Wednesday) and I already have them completed?! I still have one more challenge to complete this week for my Sunday Scrappin group, I have an idea lets just hope (fingers crossed) I have enough ink in my printer to print out the pictures.

Awsome Blogs / Blog Candy

My good friend Dawn has an awsome blog that you have to check out. She makes some awsome cards and scrapbook pages. This week is is offering some blog candy to. Be sure to check out her blog.

It's Summertime and its Hot Hot Hot

Every Monday PaperTake comes out with a new weekly challenge. This week's challenge is to use HOT colours (reds, oranges, yellows, hot pinks etc!). The first card is the card that I made for the challenge then I got on a roll and couldn't stop making Popsicle cards, I have one more to make, these will make great summer birthday cards. The Popsicle is from the cricut doodlecharms cartridge (I love that cartridge).

Card for Mother In Law

I made this card today for my mother in law who's birthday is next month. Yeah I finally have a card done ahead of time. I just have to print/stamp a message on the inside, that's the easy part. I also have a card idea for my sister who is turning 13 but I have to order the stamp set this week (her birthday is July 6).

Originally what I planned on doing was adhering the image then cutting the flowers on the pattern paper a little bit and then over lapping them over the image but it didn't look right at all. So instead I mounted the image onto SU Apricot Appeal Cardstock. I put small flower brads in the upper and lower corners. The pattern paper is from DCWV Once Upon A Time Castle Tapestry (I love this paper line). I was thinking about inking/chalking the edges of the image, not sure yet though.

Sunday Scrappin #32

It's time for Sunday Scrappin Time. I am very proud of myself I am starting to take part in more challenges. Now at Sunday Scrappin instead of a question being asked each week Amy is giving us all a challenge, what fun!! I can't brag enough about all the wonderful ladies I have met through that group and they are all so creative.

TA DA's

Hawaiian penguin card
fathers day card
happy fathers day card from the dog

TO DO'S

I really don't have any goals this week. The SBS18 Challenge Blog comes out with new challenges each wedenesday so I will like to take part in this weeks challenge again. The PaperTake Challenge Blog comes out with new Challenges on Monday so I'll like to take part in that challenge also. I have to get ink for my printer one of these days so I can get to making some scrapbooking pages. I have an idea for my MIL birthday card that I will work on. And I have to think of a card idea for my sister who is turning 13 (any ideas).

This weeks Sunday Scrappin Challenge is to an animal or an animal print in your project. I'm lovin this!!!!!!!!!!

Happy Creating!!

Butterflies all in a row

This is my first time taking part in the PaperTake Challenge. This weeks challenge was a sketch and the optional extra challenge was to use chipboard. As soon as I saw the sketch the light bulb went off and I knew what I wanted to create. I did but didn't use chipboard on my project, your saying what is she talking about.....let me explain. I have a package of scallop chipboard strips that I was going to use but they were to think and heavy for this card so I popped them out and used the negative part as a template and traced them onto my cardstock and then cut out the scallops. All Paper is SU. I stamped the butterflies onto the Barely Banana cardtock then stamped them again onto Lavender Lace and Pretty in Pink Cardstock cut them out and then pop dotted them over the stamped image. I put pink and purple stickles on each scallop. The 2 end butterflies are from the SU retired Merci set and the one in the middle is from my stash (I think I got at Joanns awhile back).

For the Bride

A few weeks ago I was invited to join the SBS18 Challenges. This weeks challenge is to make something to do with couples (anniversary, wedding, engagement, anything you can think of). When I saw the challenge I instantly got an idea. At work we have a new temp worker that is getting married this month. Normally I don't make cards for coworkers but I couldn't pass up this challenge. I'm still not sure if I'm going to give it to her though. The bride pattern is from

JanTink at SCS (click for template). My co-workers wedding colors are Ivory, Red and Black. I went a little crazy on the SU Dazzling Diamonds. I used the SU Scallop Circle punch for the bouquet holder and then paper pierced holes in each scallop. The flowers are mini primas I had. Over all I am pleased with the card. I used the Cuttlebug Divine Swirl embossing folder for the pattern on the dress. The top part of the dress is a heart cut on the cricut machine using the george cartridge.

Happy Fahters Day from the Dog

I made this card for Jeff from Buddy (our dog). Buddy came to me yesterday and asked if I would make his father a card for him, I was very honored. Jeff was very surprised to get the card, he loved it.

Card Recipe:

Paper: Pattern paper is by Sandylion One of a Kind Blue, cardstock is from my stash

Other: Dog was cut out using the Cricut Paper Pups cartridge. The edges were chalked.

Tagged Again

I have been tagged by Vivian my friend/upline today. I am supposed to name 7 random and or weird facts about myself. So here it goes:
1. I was worried about today being Friday the 13th thinking it was going to be a bad day but actually it was a great day (I can be a dork at times)
2. I worry about the dumbest things (refer to #1) seriously I do I worry about everything (and the word is in bold print for a reason). But I am getting better
3. I sleep better when it is raining.
4. When I really getting laughing it is loud and I sometimes snort. Yesterday at work I got laughing really hard (that was the first time at work I really laughed I giggled but not laugh laugh) and I got the whole dept. in tears double over in laughter because they were laughing at me laughing. It was so bad the customer service girls had to log out of the phone they couldn't answer the phone (lucky it was late in the afternoon and it wasn't our busy time)
5. My favorite season is the fall. Love all the pretty colors
6. Tonight we bought a kiddie pool and new hose to fill the pool. The pool is for Buddy our dog (he's so spoiled). He loves the water.
7. I have a bad shopping addiction. I can't go to the store for just what I intended to get I always pick up something else weather it be something small as a candy bar or as big as an whole new outfit or new scrapbooking stuff.
Now I have to tag 7 people. I have been tagged several times over the past week so I am going to tag 2 people and then who ever reads this if you want to play along just leave me a message so I can check your blog out. The 2 lucky gals are Emily, and Amy

Lillies are in Bloom

The first of my lillies have bloomed. I still have a lot more that need to bloom, I wish they would all bloom at once but at least this way it makes them seem like they last longer and I can enjoy them more. My favorite flower is the Lilly. I wanted to share some of my first pictures with you. I need to get more ceder and put it down around them. It's so frustrating our dog Buddy no way no how goes in the Lilly Garden, he knows better but the neighbors dog runs free and goes right in there. It drives me nuts!!!! We had to put up wooden stakes to keep the dog out and I hate it, it makes it look like crap. Grrrrrrrrrrrrrr!!!!!! I told the nieghbor countless times keep your dog out of my yard. It's one thing if it was my own dog but it's not.

Fathers Day Card

This isn't the greatest card but I made it in a rush. Tomorrow (Friday) I'm going to visit my dad and give him his card/present and I wanted until the last minute to make the card (bad daughter). Originally the card was going to go up and down and then I changed it to length wise. I should have moved the ribbon and dad saying down more but the ribbon was adhesive ribbon and I adhered it down thinking I was making a standing up card. I used SU Bravo Burgundy ribbon down the center of my brown adhesive ribbon (from the dollar store) to bring out the color in the brown more. The Squares were made on the cricut using my good friend George Cartridge. The letters are SU Alphabet Lovely Letters and the paper is from my stash (its embossed).

Hawaiian Penguin

I love the Penguin clear stamps by Imaginisce, they are adorable. They have the Penguin Chick and Penguin Dude. I still have to make a card with the Penguin Dude. They are so adorable though. I bought the pattern paper when I purchased the stamps through All That Scraps (I've ordered from them several times they are awesome). The card layout came from SCS SC179 as soon as I saw this challenge I knew what I was going to do.
Card Recipe:
Paper: SU Green Galore Cardstock, White Cardstock, Flair Deigns Tahiti Graffiti Pattern Paper
Stamps: Imaginisce Penguin Chick
Other: Couzzle Circle Template, Adhesive ribbon (from $1 store), Green stickles, Pink stickles

Sunday Scrappin #31

I missed Sunday Scrappin last week because we were in CT. This week I'm back into the swing of things. If you haven't already you must go and check out Sunday Scrappin I have met some friendly and talented ladies through that group.

TA DA'S

Happy Hellos Card
Cupcake Bella Card
Mom's Birthday Card

TA DO's

I really don't have anything planned to work on for the week. I have to get ink for my printer so I can work on the scrapbook pages from when we went to CT.

I would like to come up with an idea for a card that is not a traditional fold that includes the colors Pink, Red, White and Black. This is a challenge on another group and I'm having a hard time throwing pink into the mix. I'm still thinking of something though........

Another challenge is for the Sunday Scrappin group this week's challenge is to use lace. Hmmm.... I don't think I own any lace or ever even used lace on anything before. Hmmmmm......

Happy Hellos

This is another card I made just because. When I went to the craft store in CT last weekend I came across this watermelon paper that once I saw I instantly knew what I was going to do with it. This card turned out just like I visioned in my mind, which that seldomly happens.

Card Recipe:
Paper: Red Cardstock, Green Cardstock, Watermelon Stripe Pattern Paper
Stamp: House Mouse received from an image swap, SU Lots of Thoughts
Accessories: SU Scallop Punch, SU Wild Wasabi Ribbon

cupcake bella

I made this card for the fun of it. I have been taking part in several image swaps on SCS so that I can get images of Bellas and House Mouse. I used the card sketch that I found on Stampin Inspirations Blog (click to go directly to the card sketch post). The only difference instead of putting the circles on the bottom of the card I had a larger space at the top that needed to be filled in. In the picture the ribbon looks like its not adhered fully but it is (I have checked and rechecked the card after looking at this picture). The ribbon I received in a swap awhile back its from TLC the other side has white flowers on it but that it didn't work for my card so I flipped it over to the plain side.
Card Recipe:
Paper: SU Berry Bliss Paper, K&CO Birthday paper pack
Stamp: Bella Image from an image swap
Other: TLC Ribbon, Stickles on the cupcake

Mom's Birthday Card

My mother's birthday is this week and I made her a card. The card was originally going to be different, there was a challenge I was going to take part in that required you to make a different fold card (different from the traditional fold) and it had to have the colors Pink, Red, White and Black. I had no problem with the Red, White and Black or the fold part but when I had to throw the Pink into the mix it wasn't working. So instead I went with this card and left the pink out. I tried several different cards with the Pink and I just wasn't feeling it, I guess that's why they call it a challenge. I'm still thinking though....I haven't fully gave up.
For this card I just have to stamp or write a message on the inside then it is done.
Card Recipe:
Paper: Black cardstock, White Cardstock, Red cardstock
Accessories: SU Scallop Punch, Divine Swirl Cuttlebug Embossing Folder
Stamps: SU So Many Scallops
Other: Used SU Real Red Marker to color in the stamp

We're back

We came back home from visiting our family in Ct late Sunday night. We had a wonderful time with the kids, they are so adorable. On Saturday Jeff got up early and went to work with his brother while my sister in law and I went to the scrapbooking store. I got to go to the New England Scrapbook Co. what a great store, I wish we had a scrapbook store like that in NY (instead I'm stuck with the same old same old Michaels). I spent $60 I mainly got paper (hear Jeff squawking in the background LOL "Don't you have enough Damn Paper") but it was paper I haven't found any where else, I got some embellishments (hey had to get the playground stickers and had to buy 2 packages 1 for my layouts and one for my SIL page). I have to get ink for my printer and then I can get back to scrapbooking. My SIL loved the scrapbook I made her, when her parents came over to visit the first thing she did was show off the book.

I also got another fabulous award from my new blogging friend Forgetfulone.
Thank you so much. Receiving all of these awards are such an honor and they mean a lot to me.
I want to pass this award onto Lee, she is an amazing person and crafter. The girl is in the middle of moving and she still makes time to take part in challenges and create all kinds of fabulous creations. If you haven't already, go check out her amazing blog.
