Just Because - Male Card

I haven't made a card in a very long time...boy did it feel good to be crafting again! I made this card today using Noble Deer Stampin UP stamp set. Had this stamp for years and never really used it. I was going to color the image but decided to leave it plain. The mat for the deer was cut out using cricut george cartridge and the inside was done with cricut storybook cartridge.

Sea Watch Resort - Myrtle Beach March 2011

It is a rainy day here in Upstate New York, actually it's been raining for days so I decided to scrapbook. This is from my trip to Myrtle Beach in March of this year. We stayed at the Sea Watch Resort (gorgeous resort). The title is actually from a brochure from the resort that I scanned and reprinted. The Light house Die cut is from my sweet friend Lestina. All paper used is Brazzill Basics Paper (blind date and string of pearls) The stickers on page 2 of the layout are cardstock stickers from Paper House Beach line. Remember you can always click on the picture to enlarge it to see more detail.

Pg 1 Alligator Adventure - Title Page

This will be the title page that leads to the Alligator Adventure Scrapbooking pages. There will be several more layouts from Alligator Adventure.

The cute little Alligator is a diecut that my friend Lestina made and sent me. The Alligator Adventure words are cut out using Cricut George Cart. Paper is Brazzill Rainforest and Safari and the letters are cut out using DCW Safari Chic paper Stack.

This is part one of a 2 page layout. I love this picture, it was taken from the balcony. The picture here doesn't do it justice. You can see the actual picture here. The pattern paper used is from DCWV Summer Paper pack (believe the pack is from 2009 - 2010) The solid paper is Brazzill Mango. The word BEACH and seashells are a Jolee Sticker and the palm trees are from my stash and I don't recall the manufacturer.

This is page one in my traditional scrapbook album from the March 2011 Myrtle Beach vacation. I blocked out the bottom left picture for my friends privacy. These pictures were taken at Alligator Adventure (there will be more Alligator scrapbook pages to come). All paper used is Bazzill (thanks to the lovely sale Michaels had today) and the parrot in the top right hand corner is a Jolee sticker.

This card can be used either as a little boys or adult males birthday card or valentine card. The stars were made using the cricut george cartridge. Love the colors on this.

This House Mouse image was received in a swap. The paper is from DCWV Sweets collection and DCWV Spring Carstock Collection.

This card uses the Truck Loads SU stamp set. The hearts are embossed using the heart embossing folder with the cuttlebug machine. The oval was cut out using the cricut george cartridge.

This is a basic wedding or valentine card or just a thinking of you. Basic card. Once again used the cuttlebug heart embossing folder. The heart in the middle was made using the cricut george cartridge.

Lion - Possible Valentine Card

This card may turn into a valentine card I don't know yet. I really like the colors on this card. The lion is so adorable. The embossed dots were made using the cuttlebug swiss dots embossing folder. The circle that the stamped image in were cut on the cricut machine using the george cartridge. The image is from CC Designs.

Love this stamp it's made by Inkadinkadoo and all the paper used is from 6x6 basic grey Mellow paper pad. The spider web is from K&CO cardstock diecut set. I think I am going to make another card using this little cutie.

I made the candy corn using the cricut George cartridge. candy corn is my fave halloween candy. Used to get so mad when I was little my uncle percy used to come over when I was sleeping and eat my candy corn I would be so mad the next morning. He did it just to aggervate me. Used to tell my parents to hide my candy corn from him. Good times.

I have missed all my blogging friends. Hope everyone is well. Tonight I decided to pull the crafts and make several halloween cards. This card uses K&Co Spook Tacular pattern paper, K&CO Cardstock diecut, and martha stewart drippy doo punch (received the punches from a swap awhile back), and plain black cardstock. It's hard to tell in the picture put the skeleton is glittered.

For the next two cards I couldn't decide if I liked the green or purple scallop so I made both :) All paper is from K&CO spook*tacular paper pack and the cute little witch is from K&CO cardstock diecut set.

I made this for fun. I got the idea from PaperCrafts January Issue (with my own twist of course). I got a deck of cards at the dollar store and everything else came from my stash. The word "Lucky" is stickers that I got at the dollar store when they had a nice assortment of scrapbooking items. And the hearts are rubons. I think it's cute.

I have missed all my e-friends and blogging. I finally have everything in order and things are looking up for me. I am settled into my own place and I'm enjoying it and enjoying my freedom (something that wasn't allowed with my past). I have moved on and I am happy. I feel that I have all the right people in my live right now.

With that I am on vacation all this week from work. I have some day trips planned for my sister and I (watch for pictures) and I also plan to make a card and scrapbook page this week. I haven't crafted in so long and I miss it.

Thank you for being patient with me as I made this transition.

Another Thinking of You Card

All my friends seem to be going through something difficult right now whether it be surgery or something else. I had to make another thinking of you card today. This card I used the For Father SU Stamp. It just seemed liked the perfect image for the occassion. I also used the Fiskars Corner punch, sorry don't remember the name of it but it's one of those 4 in 1 punches (if you need to know I can get the name for you just let me know). The mats for the image were made on the cricut using the George Cartridge. It's hard to tell from the photo but I chalked the edges of the image.

My friend is having Knee surgery on Monday. I made her this get well card. The card sketch is from SCS SC217. The paper is from the DCWV Spring Paper Stack and DCWV Spring Cardstock paper.

I made this card for another card for a friend who is going through a difficult time right now. I made her this Thinking of You card. The paper from the DCWV Spring Paper Pack and DCWV Spring Cardstock Paper Pack. The scallop was cut out using the Storybook Cricut Cartridge. The image is from Lelo Flower Dragon.

Sorry I haven't been blogging but I have been dealing with personal issues and a horrible cold that I still have. I treated to myself to some new stamps.

I love these Dragons. They are from a stamp company called Lelo. They are so adorable. Paper is from Creating Keepsakes Confetti and Daisies.

Paper is from DCWV Sweets paper stack. And the image is from Stampendous Tiers of Treats. If you click on the photo to enlarge it you will see that some of the cupcakes have fluff on them to make them looking like frosting.

Paper is from DCWV Sweets paper pack. The cupcake image I received from WRAK on SCS. The oval was made using the cricut George Cartridge. The Happy Birthday was embossed using the cuttlebug and Happy Birthday embossing folder. It's hard to see but I used stickles on the cupcake. The image was colored in with SU Markers.

The next two cards use the Lelo Birthday Dragon stamp. I made one card for a boy and the other for a girl. The girl card is my favorite though. The saying Make A Wish was done on the computer using the Aladdin font.

Sunday Scrappin

Welcome to Sunday Scrappin! I have been a bad blogger, I have been creating things but not posting (I am so sorry).

My sweet friend Diana introduced me to 52 Sketches 52 Weeks and so far I've been doing great. These scrapbook pages of Buddy use week #2 sketch (week #1 page can be seen here )

For this layout I couldn't decide which picture of Buddy I wanted to use since I love both of them so I made a 2 page layout. Paper is from Colorbok Jewel paper pack. I ran out of the blue for the snowflakes so I the second page the flakes are a little smaller. The snowflakes were made using the cricut doodlecharms border feature. The title is Thickers Stickers

This is what the 2 pages look together. The scallop edge is a little off because I made those by hand. Note to self need to invest in a scallop punch.

I ordered the DCWV Sweets Paper pack and it finally arrived. I love the paper in that pack!! I waited and waited for the order to arrive so I could make a card and when it arrived I had a hard time using the papers because they are so cute (ever have that problem ?) The image is from SCS Wishrak group it's from SU Crazy for Cupcakes set.

My friend Forgetfulone invited me to join 52 Sketches 52 Weeks. I would love to do 52 scrapbook layouts this year, that would be great. I make more cards then scrapbooks, it's not due to lack of pictures that's for sure. This first sketch was a challenge for me. I'm not a one picture layout person LOL I like to put several pictures on a page. Secondly, I never journal in my own handwriting, but being that my printer would not corporate with me today I had no choice.

It is so nice to be able to make something besides a Christmas/winter theme card.

I love the Whiff Joy stamps. I received this image from WishRak. The paper is Basic Grey Wassail Paper. The heart in the bottom right is a Vintage Wood Shape by Lil Davis Designs (got a package of 27 shapes for $.50 at AcMoore today).

When I original set out to make this card I had the card idea in my head for Jeff but all pink does not scream male valentine to me. LOL! Used the cuttlebug heart embossing folder and then went over some of the hearts with SU dazzling diamonds.

Birthday Card, Snowman Soup, RAK

I hope everyone had a wonderful Christmas! Up to the final hours of Christmas I was up still making gifts but it pain off in the end, everyone enjoyed their gifts.

I forgot that my co-workers birthday was this past Tuesday. In the past everyone usually forgets about her birthday because everyone is so busy with Christmas but I remembered so Monday I came home and whipped up this card quickly.

I made several of these Snowman Soup gift mugs. They were real simple to put together. The poem can be found here

I have been a bad blogger. My sweet little Vanessa made me this survey and a coloring page (I am having problems with my scanner so I can upload the coloring page -BUT I'm working on it). This survey was in one of the coloring books that I got Vanessa. She is a riot! Love the answers to the questions. Enlarge to see the answers (remember she's 6 years old LOL).

PostMan Card / Ornament

This card was made to look like a package. We have a new postman and he is wonderful so I made this card for him. The scribble in the left hand corner is where I crossed out my address for the photo. I made it look like a real package with the return address and postage. The postage stamps are courtesy of WishRak (love that group).

These ornaments take minutes to make and they are so cute. I found this idea at Chic N Scratch blog. All you need is a scallop circle punch/die, adhesive and ribbon. For this one was made with the Basic Grey Wassail paper pad. I will be making a few more of these. You don't even need double sided paper for these. If you use single sided paper route your pattern papers like the tutorial says but turn it inside out so your adhering white to white instead of pattern to pattern this way when you fan it out the pattern is on the outside (duh I did the first one backwards wasn't thinking).

Chipboard Calender / Candle Holder

These 2 calenders are made out of chipboard coasters. The calender was printed from the Internet.

I got this idea from Kathie McGuire's blog. The candle holder was purchased at Walmart for $0.50. Instead of stamping an image I had paper that was very detail and matches my parents home decor (This is Mom's Christmas gift). These are real simple to make. I used tacky glue to adhere the paper to the glass and it holds well and it does dry glue.

Gift Card Holders

I got the idea to make these gift card holders from Chic n' Scratch blog. The video to make the gift cards can be seen here. I do not own the SU Top Note Die but I was lucky enough to receive some of the diecuts from WishRak group. I traced them onto cardstock and it worked perfectly.I still have to buy a gift card for the second holder but for now I used my gift card that I received from Forgetfulone .

Candle

I am so far behind on making my Christmas craft gifts. I bought the candle holder and candle at walmart. I decorated the holder with snowflake confetti and then I stamped on the candle (instructions can be found here). After I stamped the snowflakes onto the candle I put stickles on the images to make it pop more.

I live in upstate New York and we got hit with an ice storm so there was no work for me today which ment I got to play. I have a lot to do and it turned more into a lazy day then a productive day. I did make this card though. I have a few more cards to make. I keep saying oh yeah I have to make so and so a card I forgot them off the list. I've been good though, I got one batch of cards mailed (I'm not good at mailing things). I have a few that need to be weighed and need special postage, my goal is to take them to the Post Office tomorrow. The angel in the center is from a clear stamp set from Walmart. I heat

More Christmas Cards / RAK Recieved

I have been busy making Christmas cards today. I have a few more to make and then I will have to worry about making the handmade gifts. No panic, I wait until the last minute every year. I wish I was one of those people who could work on Christmas cards in July but I can't.

For the first card I was going through my Winter/Christmas embellishment draw when I came across this embossed Noel. I got it from an embellishment swap awhile back. This card took me 2 minutes to make, not even. All I had to do was adhere to a card front.

For the second card I used the Rachelle Ann Miller Skating stamp. I love that image. The top note die cut I received from SCS WishRak group. The pattern paper is Basic Grey and the snowflake is a Jolee and the ribbon is from SU.

My sister has started making her Christmas cards. I am so proud of the way her cards have turned out, she's an awesome card maker. Check out her christmas cards HERE (please)

I bought my new little friend Vanessa (age 6) several color books. They were suppose to be for Christmas but I couldn't wait and I gave them to her around Thanksgiving. Which means I have to the store and get her something else for Christmas, but that's okay I love shopping for little kids. She colored these 2 pages for me. They are adorable. I love them! Bunnies are my favorite and she didn't even know it.

Sunday Scrappin

It's Sunday Dec. 7 already (insert a big squeal of panic). I have so much to do yet to get ready for Christmas. No need to panic I did the samething last year, waited to the last minute and I got everything done. Why do I do this to myself? LOL

Have you checked out Sunday Scrappin yet? It's a creative group of paper crafters of all sorts. If you do any sort of paper crafting (card making, scrapbooking etc) we would love to have you join us.

Yes, I'm still working on my christmas cards. I got loads of ideas it's just a matter of getting them done and mailed. I think I have about 10 more to make, not bad. These two are another ornament design that I created. I really like the pink and blue even though they are not traditional Christmas colors.

On the first one I used the cuttlebug Divine Swiss embossing folder. I made the scallop edge by hand (pain in the butt) and then I heat embossed the word Happy Holidays. The little snowflakes are from cricut Doodlecharms cart.

For this card I used the spots and dots cuttlebug embossing folder. I sanded over the embossed part of the card to make it pop a little more.

I made this gift set. It's Waffer cookies in a tin with a matching card. You can click on the photo to enlarge it to see the detail better. I used the cuttlebug swiss dots embossing folder and the divine swirl embossing folder. The square was cut out using the cricut george cartridge. I think I'm going to make a couple more of these Santa suit cards. I had the 2 embossing folders out and near it was red paper and then the light bulb went off and the rest is history.

I love the way this card turned out. I won an amazing lot of blog candy from Tammi at Tropical Dreams blog (check out her blog she is an amazing crafter). All of the items on this card are the goodies I won. The paper is Basic Grey Mellow paper pack (I was never a fan of Basic Grey but this is the second paper pack I won and I love the stuff I'm addicting and need more). The snowflake is a Jolee sticker. The image is from Rachelle Ann Miller Skating. I used various color stickles on the ice rink floor and on their clothing (click on picture for a closer look).

Wedding Card, Altered Tin, and an Award

I made this card for Jeff's brother. This past week he took his family on vacation to Florida to visit his "girlfriends" family and while on vacation they got married. The card is made out of Black and run cardstock. The image is from SU to have and to Hold. The background was embossed on the cuttlebug using the textile embossing folder. The scallop and circle are also punches from SU. I did the saying Mr & Mrs. on the computer. The brides dress is blinged out with SU dazzling diamonds.

The other night I was in the store and saw these cute little tins, they are Royal Dansk Luxury Wafers. I thought these would make a cute little Christmas gift to alter. Heck with what the treat inside taste like the tin is perfect to alter. I picked up several. This is one of the designs I made so far. I have another idea also that I hope to work on hopefully later on this afternoon/evening.

It's always such an honor to receive a blog award. I received this word from an amazing crafter Dawn (you must check out her amazing blog) I hope to one day be able to attend one of Dawn's Stamp Camp get together, they make the neatest projects.

There are so many creative crafters out there, I am amazed at all the creativity. You all inspire me so much! I appreciate everyone of your comments and your friendship. Thank you Dawn!

Final Thanksgiving Card of the year

Hope everyone had a wonderful thanksgiving and that you got stuffed on lots of Turkey (oopps I mean ham).....

This is the final Thanksgiving card of the year. I made this card for my friend Carrie and her family. The pattern paper and mat under the image is Basic Grey Mellow collection.

Please keep Carrie's family in your prayers and thoughts. The family is going through a very difficult time right now. I wish them the best and hope this all passes soon. My heart goes out to them. Carrie and her brother Jay are the sweetest people.

I will have another card and altered project to share over the weekend.

Planner & More Xmas Cards

I made a mickey mouse planner. After seeing all the planners everyone over at Sunday Scrappin is making I had to make one too. I have a very hard time getting my handwriting centered. This planner is an address book, a list of birthdays/anniversaries (sorted by month) will be easier to flip to the Jan page and see all the bdays at once and remind myself to send cards, and a christmas card list. I still have to update the inside of it.

This is another one of the various ornament style Christmas cards I'm making this year. I have one more idea. This one I just embossed in gold the saying Merry Christmas.

I am very excited tomorrow night we are going to WWE Smackdown wrestling. We have VIP seats I'm so excited. Jeff and I have a cold but that isn't going to stop us from going and having a blast!

A Touching Rak

I received a wonderful RAK (Random Act of Kindness) from my sister's friend Carrie. Carrie and her family are going through a difficult time right now and I do my best to help. Sometimes I don't feel as if my help is making a difference but this card proves otherwise. I cherish this card. I love anything homemade. The card was signed by all the members of Carrie's family with little notes of thanks. It meant a lot and I will always cherish it. It's funny my sister comes to my house to raid my scrapbooking/cardmaking supplies and Carrie goes to my sisters house and raids her scrapbooking/cardmaking supplies. LOL!

Thinking of You/hello card

I have started to work on my Christmas cards. I still have many more to make. These two santa cards are for our niece and nephew (thought they were cute kid cards). The image I received from SU WishRak it's High Hopes Santa & Rudy. The pattern paper is by the Paper Studio Tis The Season Stripe and red and green cardstock.

I think this is going to be the style of this years christmas cards. I have one other design I want to make but I need gold cardstock. The circles were made using the george cricut cartridge (the backing is plain cardstock same color as the front to hide the backing of the brads). The top part of the ornament is a SU Round Tab punch. I may put ribbon through the tab but I'm not sure. May do a few with ribbon and few without ribbon. The front was ran through the cuttlebug then went over them with SU Dazzling diamonds glitter.

I love this photo of our niece Summer age 3. She is adorable. I made this layout awhile ago I was going to make a coworker a scrapbook for her first grandchild then decided against it and instead used the page for myself. I want to find small brown rubons and put her name on the top and year on the bottom (above the photo and under the photo). I usually can only find large rubons and never in the colors I need.

This page was also completed for this week's ABC Challenge P is for Pink

I bought this dog stamp on ebay. It looks just like my dog buddy. I heat embossed the dog image using black embossing powder. As I'm sure you know this will not be the last time you see this image. I will get plenty of use of those this one for sure. The image arrived yesterday and first thing this morning I was making a card with it.

The stamp set is SU Sleigh Bells Ring (I believe this set is retired). I used gold embossing powder for the saying. I love to do all types of embossing whether it be heart or dry embossing or embossing with the cuttlebug.

My sister loves pirates so I made her a pirate halloween card. The little pirate on the scallop circle and the Arrrrr are rubons that I bought last year at a after halloween clearance sale. The middle strip is a SU wheel that I colored in. My sister was thrilled with the card.

My sister's friend's brother is going through a rough time right now, actually that whole family is. I made this card for the family to let them know I'm thinking of them and to let the brother know to hang in there better days are ahead. The the base of the card and mat is SU Chocolate Chip and all the other paper is from CTMH. The image of the monkey I received as blog candy awhile back and the the saying was done on my printer. The saying in the picture looks crooked but on the card in real life it's not, I swear. I keep looking at the card and even had Jeff check it.

Dog Cards

This weeks challenge at Crafty Creations (formerly known as SBS18 Challenges) is a Dog/Puppy theme. Anyone who knows me or reads my blog knows I have a yellow lab dog named Buddy that I'm head over heals for (you can see pictures of him on my picture blog here). When I saw this challenge I knew I had to play along.

Santa Paws - I had this stamp in my stash for awhile and when I open the dog/cat stamp draw the light bulb lite up with this card idea. The paper is also from my stash if I recall correctly I think I got it from a swap awhile back. The Santa hat is from SU Cold Play stamp set I stamped it then cut it then adhered it to the dog. The white fur parts of the hat are done with snow writer (love that stuff). The little candy cane is a Jolee sticker from my stash also.

Thinking of you - This card was tricky I wanted to use browns I always want to use browns when it comes to dog scrapbook pages or cards. I guess the browns go better because of my dogs color (yellow) but I wanted to stay away from that. These 2 colors of cardstock where laying out on the desk for some reason and the light bulb went off again (wow 2 times in one day, I'm impressed). The yellow was ran through the cuttlebug using the swiss dots embossing folder.

On both cards the scallops and circle/ovals were made on the cricut using the storybook cartridge.

You ever have one of those images that just scream use certain colors on me and you can't get past that and every card is in those colors? That's what happened here. This little cutie screams pink and blue to me. The image is from SCS WishRak group.
The first card is actual for the Saturday Sketch challenge. #21 The white parts on the girls jacket and snowballs and ground where done using snow writer . Fall Foilage

I don't have a card to share but I have some photos from today. We drove around the mtn side today taking pictures. We went to the Katterskill Falls in Palenville NY it is the highest waterfall in New York state at aprox 260 feet high. We took the trial up along side the fall which it was gorgeous, chili but so pretty. We got to the top (not the tippy top) and I felt very dizzy and light headed. I never had an issue with heights I've been on some the highest and craziest carnival rides, I have flown no problem don't know what it was today. Maybe it was the elevation, I don't know. The first photo of the red tree, that is my baby that tree is in our front yard, I love it. It is so bright and vibrant, it's gorgeous. I'll be back later or tomorrow with a card to share. I came across a new blog challenge group called DRS Designs. Challenges are posted every other Monday this particular challenge was to use a sentiment as the focal point of your creation. I received this sentiment image free when I placed an order at Rubbernecker stamps (they have treasure hunt Tuesday you place your order on Tuesday and they give you a clue what stamp is free and you have to go through there store find and it put it in your cart and you get it for free).

Fun Fall Creations

This card is actual a coloring sheet that I printed out (coloring page can be found here). I printed it out and shrunk it down some and traced it onto a piece of folded cardstock it folds at the hand and wing of the bat on the left. Then I printed it out onto the various colors of cardstock and kept cutting and layering. The bats are pop dotted to give them some dimension. The one card is for a swap partner and the other is for our niece Summer.

I am part of a secret Boo Friend swap. It works the same way as a Secret Santa Swap but this one is a Halloween theme. We had to make several handmade items and also buy some items. One of the items we had to make is a Fall recipe card. Those who know me know I don't know the first thing about cooking or baking. But thankfully there is the Internet and I was able to pull this recipe from here. The pumpkin is from the Cricut Dreams Come True cartridge. And no don't expect to see anymore recipe pages, not my thing, put I'm pleased with the way it turned out.

It's been another hectic, crazy, stressful week but it did end on a happy note. We have finally after millions of attempts found a lawyer that will handle our case against our neighbor and we have a very solid case (it's not that no lawyer wouldn't take it before it's just they either know him personally or they represented him - how many lawyers does one man need is beyond me).

Continuing on that happy path this week my sister will be joining us at Sunday Scrappin so watch for her post later. I'm so happy that she is really getting into this craft.

Fall Pilgrim

The leaves are finally starting to change colors. I love this time of year. We have a tree in our front yard that turns a vibrant red, I can't wait for the leafs to fully change on it. Our dog Buddy is the perfect fall color (yellow lab) so I can't wait for the leafs to fall for him to go out and play. This time of year there are so many gorgeous photo opportunities.

The card I made today is for 3 challenges. The first challenge is for Saturday Sketch Challenge (Love this sketch I have a birthday card idea using this sketch to - hope to work on that tomorrow), second is for the SBS18 Challenge to make a card with an Autumn Theme (I haven't played along with these girls in awhile), and lastly for the Sunday Scrappin Challenge to make something mainly orange. The pilgrim is a stamp I bought from Rubber Necker Stamps and the leafs in the squares are brads and the turkey in the square is a brad.

Rough Scrapbooking Day

I usually only scrapbook our son Dylan's pictures once a year and that is either around his birthday, kind of my little tribute to him. We have one photo album filled with pictures but it's just not an easy subject to scrap and I am never happy with the way the pages turn out. I bet I could have a professional scrapbooker create Dylan's album and I probably still wouldn't like it. Don't get me wrong, there is no right or wrong way to scrap. These pages are no exception they are done and they are "OK" but they are not "Great". The page on the right is of my Sister and I with Dylan (she sure was a proud Aunt look at that big smile on sister's face, one day I pray she'll be an Aunt because I know she will be an awesome one). Dylan would have been 4 years old on the 26th of this month, so hard to believe. We are blessed that we were able to spend 3 fabulous months with Dylan, but always wish it was longer. Stampin for my Sanity

My blood is still boiling from the situation yesterday (read about it here). The neighbor who is a grown man keeps acting very immature and doing things that are just wrong! My frustration is my dog isn't a bad dog like I said he seldom seldom gets lose he's a dog it's going to happen. BUT that's NOT what this post is about. I created a card this evening to try to keep my sanity, the little that is left.

I love my glitter and this card shows that. The snowflakes are cuttlebugged with the snowflakes embossing folder then I sprinkled SU Dazzling Diamond Glitter all over it (sorry hard to tell in the picture - sorry for the poor quality of a picture it's dark out but I'm impatient and want to share now). The Snowman is done is Stickles Icicle glitter. The Base under the snowman is done using Deco Art Snow-Tex (I forgot I have snow writer and that stuff is a lot better - next card). The snowflakes around the snowman are charms that I broke off the loop (they were already glittered). I think this will be one of my Christmas card designs this year, I have one other idea.

Interuption

I do apologize normally I would not post anything but craft related items on this post but I am calling for everyone's help. My dog Buddy occasionally slips his collar/leash and when I say occasionally I mean once a month if that, we always walk him on the leash. Sometimes we go out of the house and the door doesn't catch and he comes out etc. . When he does he runs over to the neighbors yard and either my husband or I are quick behind Buddy to get him back. The neighbor today made the comment "If your dog comes over here one more time I will shoot him" and it was said in anger. I am lived beyond belief. We called our local police department there is nothing they can do being Buddy "isn't human". They can only do something if the neighbor was to shoot Buddy. Can you imagine??!??!?! I called the ASPCA and I am waiting to hear back for an investigator. This is just the tip of the ice berg with the issues we have with our neighbor. His dog is continuously coming in our yard several times a day if not more. Does anyone have any other solutions for what I can do? We have invested in an above ground electric fence that we have installed and will begin using. But still how does someone get away with threating a dog? Buddy is not a vicious dog at all.

Sweet Reward

I have been very fortunate to have made friends with Forgetfulone. She is such a sweet person. Today she gave me this award. I don't consider myself to be all that crafty but I enjoy what I do and enjoy helping Forgetfulone and others with tutorials and different things. I have learned so much from different bloggers, websites but the one that sticks out in my mind right now is Mel Stampz. She is so creative and she can take the simplest item and turn it into amazing piece of art. Every blog I read inspires me and teaches me something new whether it be a layout idea, color combos that wouldn't have thought of putting together, different techniques etc. you all teach me something and I'm thankful for each of you.

Mini Halloween Trick or Treat Pail

I picked up this cute little bucket at walmart in the Halloween section to alter for $1.00. They have them plain (which is this one there is a strip that goes across the middle (under the ribbon) and they have ones that are decorated (hard to tell their decorated unless you look closely). I'm going to make another trip to Walmart this week to pick up a few more. I glued the ribbon around the center of thepail and where the ribbon meets I put a scallop circle there and the pumpkins are a rubon I had.

This little project took care of 3 challenges for me this week :

1. A swap I am in to make something orange and black

2. Use something with scallops for the Stamps Scraps N More challenge - if you haven't checked out this challenge blog you should each Sunday a new challenge is posted and you have until Friday to post your creation and each entry into the challenge gets you a chance out some blog candy and at the end of the month a name is drawn from all the entries - I have another card I made for this challenge but I can't post it until after Halloween (it's a card for my Sis)

3. Sunday Scrappin Challenge this week was to create something that is mainly orange. I think this little pail is mainly orange. Does that count? LOL!

I can not say this week went fast at all the work week dragged and of course the weekend flies by. If you haven't already checked out the Sunday Scrappin Meme, you must. First I want to thank everyone who gave my sister Kayla a big warm welcome to Sunday Scrappin last week. She's looking forward to participating more in Sunday Scrappin and crafting more. She won't be joining us this week being she was busy with school and family this past week she didn't get a moment to create anything but she will be back with us next Sunday. Ta Da's

I really didn't have a crafty week neither. I have been battling a cold and just not up to much lately. This time of year really dampens my spirits due to the lost of our son. But last night I stayed up late making a card and doing the Sunday Scrappin Challenge. No way could I come here and not share anything.

This card is okay. The sketch is from this weeks Taylored Expressions Cupcake Challenge. The stamp is of a Hershey kiss that I got when we went to the Big E Fair. The silver Hershey kiss is a brad. The letters are alphabet Christmas stickers.

I bought a package of binder clips (they had about 10 different sizes in the package for $1 at Dollar Tree). I bought them awhile back to alter. I thought this would be perfect for this week's Sunday Scrappin Challenge. These would be great to put on your desk to hold a picture or an important reminder. This literally took me less then 5 minutes to make. I also decorated the back (it looks the same as the front). I may make some for Christmas gifts with a christmasy look or everyday style. (yes Kayla maybe you will get one for Christmas if your a good girl).

UnCrafty Week

Can you believe I created absolutely nothing this week. I haven't been feeling well and work has been tiring me out. This time of year gets a little rough on me to, October 26 our son Dylan would have been 4 years old. I stop and think it feels like yesterday he was with us and is it possible he would have been 4 and then I do the math and yeah it's correct. So this time of year my mojo does tend to go south more often then usual.

I didn't want to leave you with nothing so here are some things that I created before blogger.

You can click on the pictures to make them bigger. All of these creations where made 1 - 2 years ago. The Halloween layout is from my sister's 2006 Halloween Party. For the mummy card I used regular gauze wrapped it around the card then chalked it to give it the worn look. I saw this idea in a magazine. I made it out of an envelope. This was my sister's Halloween card the inside when you pulled it up said What type of music does a Mummy like. You flip it over and it says Wrap Music. The purple card was a simple card I made for Jeff. I used Jolee stickers and SU Spooky Skyline wheel.

I hope to have a crafty day tomorrow. Hopefully I'll be back with newer creations.

I made this card for my sweet friend forgetfulone, she celebrated her birthday earlier this week. She mentioned on her blog that her birthday was coming up and I emailed her to ask when and she responded with the date and the comment that it's just another day, after a certain age they don't really count anymore. That's where the card saying "I know you don't give a hoot about your birthday.....But I do. Happy Birthday". The owl was cut on on the cricut using the Dreams Come True cartridge and the party hat is a sticker from my collection.

Under the Sea

Ever get a card idea in your head and you really have no purpose for the card other then you just want to make it? Well this is one of those cards. The idea popped in my head a few weeks back out of the blue and I finally got around to making it. My original plan was cut the Little Mermaid out on the cricut using my Dreams Come True Disney princess cartridge. All was well into it was time to cut the eyes. I only have the baby bug and those eyes are so damn tiny. So then I thought I would cut her out again onto white cardstock and then color them in, NO they looked scary. I tried and tried no luck only frustration. Then I remembered that I had a mermaid Jolee I could use. The Flounder and Sebastian are from the cricut cartridge. The background is cuttlebuged using the tiny bubbles embossing folder. In the picture on the Little Mermaids fins you can see the pop dots but in real life you can't really see them on the card, but I had the card under the light and it was showing through more. Does that make sense?

Get Whale Soon

My sister's best friend Carrie is in the hosptial having surgery so last night my sister came over and we made get well cards for Carrie, I don't have a picture of my sister's card the batteries died in the camera. Carrie likes whales so I used the Get Whale Soon stamp from SU Pun Fun stamp set. The background is embossed with the cuttlebug tiny bubbles embossing folder. I added the green to the card to give it a cheeriness so it wasn't so blue looking and feeling. It's hard to tell in the picture but the image is pop dotted to give it a little character. I love to emboss with the cuttlebug pop dot and I almost used stickles on the whale but decided not to.

I love the sketches over at Taylors Cupcake Challenges, a new sketch is posted every Friday (even though it's called a Cupcake Challenge you do not have to use Cupcakes, it's just she's a big cupcake fan).

I am happy to say that all the paper used on this card is from my scrap pile. I have so many scraps it's unreal, and it's so much easier to go to the paper rack to pull out a full sheet of paper instead of sorting through the paper box. Last night I went to Walmart and got a 5 drawer tote I have 2 -3 colors in a drawer and then I just separated them by a piece of cardboard then all the pattern paper is in one drawer. It's a start and it's already made a difference. I still have some scraps to sort and put in their new home but I wanted to play.

I love my cuttlebug machine for embossing. The background was embossed using the swiss dots embossing folder.

Thanks for looking. Hoping the weekend goes super sssss-lllll-ooooo-wwwww, I return turn to work on Monday (my vacation is almost over).

Welcome Little One

The last baby card I made (can be seen here) was okay but I wasn't thrilled with it so I decided not to send it to my friend. I am pleased with the way this card turned out today.

The image is from an image swap I did a few months back. I cut the image out using the couzzle circle cutter, I had that thing for years but finally really starting to get use out of it. The scallop circle was cut out using the Cricut Storybook Cartridge. The strip along the center of the card is cuttlebug embossing borders folder called Frills, the hearts are buttons from my stash. The layout of the card is this weeks sketch challenge at PaperTake . The pattern paper I had for a long time it is by Frances meyer and is called Buttoned Up Patchwork. Of course I had to put stickles on the card, the center of the flowers and the butterfly are stickled, hey what's a girl could without glitter?

I Heart Snowmen

While at the Big E we came across a stamp booth called Sarasota Stamp Co from FL. When we first approached the booth I bought 2 small stamps (m&m and a paw print and a bottle of stickles) because I had my heart set on the House of Mouse Booth (I received an email stating they will be at the fair). We left the Sarasota stamp booth to hunt for the House Mouse booth, which we finally found and what a big disappointment for me. They had NO stamps at their booth just cards, calenders, magnets etc. with their images on them. So we went back to the other Stamp booth and I bought 6 more bottles of stickles, 13 bottles of embossing powders, and this cute snowman stamp.

On to the card: The snowmen are colored in with stickles and the background is the Cuttlebug embossing folder Snowflakes and some of the snowflakes are stickled too and some I went over with a colored pencil and colored in. The stickle colors used are: icicle, baby blue, yellow, xmas red, turquoise, green, orange peel, and burgundy. I just wish the stamp co. had online ordering but they don't but I have her email (wink wink). I love the fact that it doesn't really take that long for the stickles to dry.

Have yourself a Merry Little Christmas

So hard to believe that Christmas is right around the corner. It's time to start thinking about Christmas card designs. I'm going to put together a list of all the people I need to send cards to so I have an idea of how many I need to make. I think I'm going to make something (not sure yet) with a list of the people that I send cards to and their addresses so that it's already done for me next year and I can skip the list part.

I used the cuttlebug Lace Tree Embossing Folder. It took me some time to figure out what to do with it being it is so detailed an elegant on it's own. But when I saw the sketch challenge at OCC I knew I had to use this folder. I am excited I finally got the hang of embossing (with a heat gun and powder)!! All the paper is from Colorbok Traditional Christmas paper pack (had it for a long time). The saying is from SU Merry Little Christmas stamp set and is embossed in gold.

Sunday Scrappin #45

Usually I have mixed feelings about Sunday's I'm sad because it's the end of the weekend and make to work tomorrow but happy because I get to post and see what all the creative girls over at Sunday Scrappin got done this past week. But, this Sunday is all happy feelings. I'm on vacation all week (YEAH) and we are taking a mini-vacation (overnight trip)that I'm excited about.

Sunday Scrappin Challenge: I didn't take part in last week's challenge, hey I told you I'm not a girl that's into the kitchen scene. This week's challenge Amy (our fabulous host) provided a picture for us to get inspiration from. I'm not good at these type of challenges I'm not at sketches and those type of things. We'll see if I can come up with something. I'll put on my thinking cap. I will be taking a notebook with me on vacation because I get page ideas and card ideas at the strangest times. I may be on a ride at the fair and have to tell them to stop so I can write down my idea. I'm joking I would wait for the ride to stop then run to a bench. LOL!

Question: We currently have an all in one printer (fax, scanner, printer, copier etc) that is hooked to our computer. The other day while in walmart we were looking and the ink for the photo printers like the Kodak photo printer (it's just a printer for pictures) is a lot cheaper and we would save in the end. Does anyone have this type of thing and if so what kind and what is your thoughts on it. If I get would I would like one that can print various size pictures (wallet, 4x6, 8 1/2 x 11 etc). Thanks for the help.

It's a She thing

I love when there are sketch challenges and as soon as I look at the sketch I have an instant card idea, I love when that happens!! This sketch is this weeks challenge at I(heart)2Stamp. The challenge was to use the sketch and bella's well I don't have any bella's. When I saw the sketch I knew I wanted to make a girly card. The Images are from SU Totally Cool and Haute Couture sets. The pattern paper is from DCWV Everyday paper packet.

I can either use this card for my sister who is becoming more and more of a girly girly each day (age 13) or a girlfriend at work who is a big time shopper and girly girl, but here birthday isn't until April.

For the inside of the cards, I leave it blank until I go to use the card this way I can put in the apporiate saying for the occasion.

Baby Card

This is another one of those cards I made that are okay I'm not overly found of it. I think I'm going to make another baby card. My friend's daughter is having a baby and wanted to make her a card being she is due in a few weeks. But I'm sure if I really like this one.

A little bit of Christmas missed with a little Halloween

So hard to believe it's that time of year to start thinking about Christmas cards.

For this card I used the SU Merry Little Christmas Stamp set. I'm not sure if this is the card I'm going to make for this year's Christmas cards. I have a few other Christmas card ideas I want to play with and see. It's hard to tell but I put white fun flock on the fur part of hat's hat and on the ball of his hat.

I had the image of the witch for a long time. I received her from one of my very first image swaps that I did years ago. The pattern paper is from my stash from last year. The saying on the bottom is a stamp that I got last year at Michael's in the dollar bin. After I made the above Christmas card I got this card idea using the same layout pretty much.

Sympathy Card

This card is horrible and I am not happy with any piece of it. So please do not feel that you have to comment this card, I understand. I am not good at making sympathy cards. Usually if I need a sympathy card I make a quick dash to Hallmark and buy a card. These are the hardest cards to make. I don't like the saying going side ways and I'm just not pleased with the whole design.

Back to the books card - this was a card idea I had "floating in my head since I received the image.

I tried a new technique bleached image and I also did last week's Sunday Scrappin challenge on this card (used embossing powder that I received last Christmas and never opened until the other day). Card can be viewed here (I love the way this turned out)

Halloween Card - I used an unopened embellishment on this card the boo Rubin I bought last year at an after Halloween clearance sale.

Mickey's House

For this Layout I wanted to stick to the same style that I used on the Minnie's House Layout (can be seen here) The title Mickey's House was done on the computer using the Mickey font printed onto white cardstock then cut out, then I went over it with a black marker. The mickey/pluto figure and the house were cut out on the cricut using the Mickey & Friends cartridge. This page is part of my 2006 Disney Trip album. I still have aways to go before this album is done. My goal is to get the 2006 album done before our next trip which hopefully (fingers crossed) will be next year or the year after for sure.

Fall is my favorite time of year, I love all the colors and the kids in their cute and scary costumes. The image on this card came from the WishRak group. I am loving the gruffies images, they are from the creators of House Mouse images. The paper is from a paper pack from the dollar store, I picked it up last year. The word boo is a rub on that I picked up for a a quarter or less last year after Halloween. I can also use this for this week's Sunday Scrappin challenge to use an embellishment from your stash that has never been opened (the rubons been in my stash almost a year and just seeing daylight, they were buried in the Fall embellishment drawer). The layout of the card is this weeks SCS Sketch Challenge 192.
